Chuchuhuasi (Maytenus macrocarpa) Bark Powder.
Chuchuhuasi is a very large canopy tree growing in the Amazon. The bark has been used medicinally for centuries to help support aching muscles and joints in rheumatism and arthritis. Chuchuhuasi means “trembling back,” which refers to its use as a back pain reliever. It is still very popular today and is widely sold along the Amazon as an aphrodisiac. The bark soaked in rum is a popular drink that is common to find in many restaurants and bars in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia.
